Soul artists such as Vikter Duplaix and Frank McComb have only become apparent since my mum installed broadband wireless. Where are such talented individuals where MTV appearances are concerned? Why do Duplaix's silky vocals seldom grace my radio waves? This is all due to the lackluster efforts of their record labels. The pure ignorance of such talent really angers me, not to mention the countless lovers of pure and true music.
Was not too long ago when State Your Noize was just chilling, and we ended up having a massive discussion about music itself. Our love for music is undeniable, yet to become a success we concluded that the chances of 'making it' are slowly decreasing with the increased amount of illegal downloading. Music is, in the end, a business - the aim to make money and prosper. Yet how is this then possible if the average Joe Shmoe can download your latest track for nothing - after the endless hours spent by the artist in the studio.
In essence, the state of the music industry is similar to that of the credit crunch - in desperate need of a boost of some sort. I could go on for years, but my toast is getting cold and blogspot surely only allows a set value of writing
PEACE, LOVE & HAIR GREASE =]
I agree with this statement.
ReplyDeleteThe music scene has become a shmable since the invention of the downloading market and has forced many good and true artists to the background because they don't have the commerical look nor sound.
Whilst 'artists' that go through the procedure of being on reality shows are able to prosper due to the multi-million profit being generated by old fat guys who don't understand real talent. n da slogan is ingenius lol xx
Thanks for the comment lol =]
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, totally. So much real talent is absolutely disregarded as not being fit for commercial success. Yet, judging by the appreciative responses to Youtube videos, doesn't seem as though they lack much public appeal.
But the question is do they lack multi-million profit appeal ?
ReplyDeleteThat is what the record companies think before investing and if their personal life is interesting to exploit to the general public.
So, you're limiting the appeal of an artist to their ability to please the public with 'interesting' personal lives - which involve being pap'd when going to TESCOS?!
ReplyDeleteBut I do get your point. They may not be the sexiest NO HOMO! But neither are some existing artists.
the music sceene is fake in its own name and right music is sumin you can do for free jus like football and if ur getting paid for it then good for u but dnt ever expect sum1 to pay for sumthing wen u can get it for free
ReplyDeletemmm...interesting view fam.
ReplyDeleteits like a natural concept, if its cheaper, do it that way, so long as quality isnt at stake
