Lovebox - London Weekender

Its that time of year again. Our mediocre summer brings with it a shedload of local events and festivals, not least the Lovebox: London Weekender, which is ironically on my doorstep @ Victoria Park. The event, taking place next weekend, hosts an impressive roster of well-known and upcoming artists - all intent on welcoming summer into our lives. Already confirmed artists include:

Alan Pownall, Andy Butler (Hercules & Love Affair) DJ Set , Annie Nightingale, Au Revoir Simone,  Bill Brewster & Frank Broughton (DJ History/Lowlife), Black Joe Lewis, Bombay Bicycle Club, Chairlift, Chew Lips, Chipmunk, Daisy O'Dell (VIP only), Dan Black, Dananananaykroyd, David Shrigley, Datarock, Diplo, Disco Bloodbath, DJ Sneak, Doves, Drums Of Death, Duran Duran, Fenech-Soler, Filthy Luka AKA Luke Howard, Florence And The Machine,  Fontan, Friendly Fires, Frankmusik, Gang Of Four, Gary Numan, Giles Smith, Groove Armada, Gruff Rhys, Hip-Hop Karaoke, Horse Meat Disco, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Idjut Boys,  James Priestley, Jazzie B, Joakim, Joey Negro (VIP only), Johnny D, Justin Robertson, Ladyhawke, Late Night Audio, Lightspeed Champion, Magistrates, Matt Berry, MPHO,  Mr Hudson, N*E*R*D, New York Dolls, Nextmen (VIP only), Nisennenmondai, Noah & The Whale, Norman Jay M.B.E (VIP only), Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Richard Norris (Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve), Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Rokia Traore, The Rumble Strips, secretsundaze, Severino, Simian Mobile Disco, Stuart Patterson & Leo Elstob (Soulsonic /Faith)(VIP only), Swimming, Temper Trap, The Death Set, The Emperor Machine, The Jive Aces, The RGBs, The Twelves, Tom Maddicott, Tommy Reilly, VV Brown, Wave Machines, X-Press 2, Young Fathers PLUS MORE TBA

Now it's a REAL shame that I won't be able to make it there. No matter how close it is. At a price of around £50 for just one of the two alloted days, my money-less student pockets are unable to expend that amount. Nevertheless, I will still probably be able to hear most of the tunes from my bedroom window - having my own shubz without permitted entry LOL.

If you do have the money, make sure to purchase a ticket and in particular support our UK artists (especially Chipmunk);

SHOULD BE A BANGER!!!!

  1. I think it is a real shame about this advent having to cost too much unless it would of had a bigger turn out.
    how are we meant 2 support the uk artists of All genres if they biggest fans cannot sdimply afford the tickets?
    Their PR and event organisers need to nip this situation in the bud before more artists feel unsupported by their fans due to the finial situation most of us unfortunately have to endure due to the politial affairs of the governement and world.
    Very sad and misfortunate times for festival go-ers.
